Car Crash, 2025

Giclee Print on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Baryta

Growing up my dad didn’t always live with my family. For a little while he worked opening a hotel in Miami, Florida. One summer we went to visit him from New York City. When we got to the hotel and I saw him in the lobby; I sprinted over and gave him a big hug. He let out a groan and said “careful, not too tight.” He was only hugging me with one arm hiding the other behind his back. I knew in this moment something was wrong. A few days before while riding his bike he had been hit by a car and badly injured breaking many bones. He did not say anything to my sister and I in hopes to protect us. This piece is a still from my memory of this.
